Big dowel and stick system BDS1

BDS1 measures and performs quality control of big dowels or sticks from 100 to 260 mm in length and from 5 to 25 mm in diameter. At the start of the controlling procedure, the system carries out a rough control of length, diameter, color and bending of dowels or sticks. Bad parts are eliminated. After that, each dowel or stick is carefully reviewed by four cameras searching for color defects, knots and irregularities on the surface. Eight line scan cameras with an accuracy of 0,05 mm for length and 0,02 mm for diameter perform a precise size control. Cone inspection for dowel control is also available. Pieces that do not meet the approved criteria are eliminated. The capacity of the system depends on the length of the sticks or dowels (60 pieces/minute).
